Platelet Alloantibody Workup-Advanced

Also Known as (Alias) Platelet Specific Antibody
Method Flow Cytometry, Enzyme Linked Immunosorbant Assay (ELISA)
Test Information If a patient fails to respond to HLA-selected community donors, further testing may be required. An advanced workup may include a class I HLA antibody identification and a platelet antibody assay. Further antibody identification may be required using a platelet specific assay (MAIPA).
Additional Test Information This test cannot be requested until after the Platelet Alloantibody Workup (Basic) test has been performed.
Sample Requirements ACD (yellow top)
Clotted Blood (red top)
Requested Volume 10cc ACD (yellow top) and 10cc Clot (red top)
Shipping Information Send whole blood specimens at ambient temperature. Specimens should arrive in the lab within 48 hours from draw time.
